If you’ve ever opened up an Archicad schedule and thought, “How am I supposed to read this?”, you’re definitely not alone. Busy days and complex projects can turn schedules into a mess of numbers and labels pretty quickly.
But now, Archicad 29 offers easy fixes that clear things up in just a few clicks. Your tables become simple and neat, and sharing details with your team is much easier.
Let’s see how these updates simplify your workflow and help you focus on your work, not on formatting.
Tidy schedules help you and your team work faster and avoid mistakes.
Open your schedule in Archicad 29.
Look for the cell size settings icon at the top of your schedule.
Click the icon to turn on resizing.
Click and drag the edge of any column or row to make it wider or taller, so every value and label fits.
Want Archicad to do it for you? Double-click the edge of a column or row to auto-fit that section.
Check your schedule to make sure all the information is clearly visible, no cut-off text or crowded numbers.
Make your schedule more informative by adding totals and subtotals so users see the big picture at a glance.
Go to Scheme Settings in your schedule.
Find the Sum icon next to the fields you want to total.
Click the Sum icon to show a total at the bottom of the column.
Want a breakdown? Look for the Flag icon beside the fields you want to subtotal.
Click the Flag icon to show a subtotal for that field, grouped by category or property.
You can make schedules easier to read by grouping headers and highlighting important data.
Select the cells you want to group together for a header.
Click the Merge Header button to combine these cells into one clear header.
To highlight key information, select the cells you want to stand out.
Open Field Settings and choose a custom color or match it to the header.
You can make your schedule look cleaner by hiding zeros and replacing dashes.
Open your schedule in Archicad 29.
Go to the formatting options for your schedule fields.
Turn off or hide zero values so cells with 0 do not show a number.
Choose how to display dashes: hide them completely, or show them only in totals and grand totals.
Apply the same setting to all fields if you want a consistent look across the whole schedule.
Help users understand values quickly by adjusting units and labels in your totals.
Select the total cell you want to edit in your schedule.
Open Field Settings for that cell.
Turn units on or off, or add a short suffix (for example, m² or pcs) to explain what the number means.
Rename any empty total cells with a clear label so it’s obvious what is being summed.
These changes keep the information clear and remove guesswork for anyone reading the schedule.
