Layout book size huge, nothing can be selected.

Hi folks,

I've got a problem. my projects layout book won't select anything. my cursor shows only the check. It won't let me do anything but import a drawing, but then I can't move it. Also, the file has ballooned to 135,000 K for 76 pages.

Things I've already tried:
1. Restarted machine.
2. Created new Layout book. It functions normally.
3. Eliminate extraneous layouts.(Archived)
4. Eliminate OLE linked Autocad files (they're evil, right?)
5. Opened backup layout book. It behaves the same.

Any suggestions?

PS Rebuilding the book is not an option.

Djorde's suggestion did the trick,

I opened a new lbk from a functioning lbk, and imported all the layouts I was desperate to keep.

Happy camper once more...
