Pen Sets and plotting thicknesses of objects, walls, doors..

Does anyone have a well established lineweight pen set for the stock Archicad 14 objects?

You know what I mean, doors that are thin, windows that are thin, walls that are thicker and thickest....hatch/fill that is thin, furniture and bathroom fitxtures that are light medium in thicness.....

You know, the way architect SHOULD be graphically representing their language??? Graphically correct......

Reason being is that we have conflicting thoughts on how best in the office to assign pens and pen colors to the objects we bring straight out of the Archicad 14 box.....

If anyone can assist me in this issue I'd surely be grateful.

Could anyone post up or upload the penset they are using to plot the walls, doors, windows graphically correct so I may take a look see at them?

thanks,
RR

No, I think get it, you want someones' pen set.

At a wild guess, the most experienced people on these forums are so good they have mostly become consultants in addition to whatever work they have on their own, so I think I can understand why no pen sets get bandied about.

Well, to answer your question properly, "Yes AND No".....

I would appreciate an experienced users penset for AC14, but most importantly...is there not a penset "WHICH ALREADY COMES IN AC14 OUT OF THE BOX" itself that works basically well with the standard GSM objects...doors, windows, furniture..etc..???

I thought the "Archicad 10 default" pensets worked rather well at one point as starting point but I can't seem to find them anymore in my penset list??

EDIT:
Just remembered - open the attribute manager, open the "pen set" tab. Open another project (the right hand screen) and import the entire AC10 default pen set from the other project, even an AC 10,11, 12 or 13 project will do.

I myself have been hoping for a look at the International pen sets, but those are global "open secrets", kept from Americans in continuous and untouchable transit between Buda and Pest.

That is what the default values of pens 1 through 9 and a handful of others are supposed to do. Link has made a list of the random other pens that library parts use (via 'place all parts' from the Special menu and looking for used attributes). It varies by library a bit though (US, vs INT, vs GER etc)

Generally I advise not touching those pens until one sees how they, and the lib parts, interact with your other pens.

But, yeah, the delivered template - including pen sets - is not really something that lets someone get started properly IMHO.

"I did do a search...came up with a lot of "extraneous" information. "

You remind me of autocad people who don't want to think, just be handed the solution. When I suggested doing a search it is because there is a lot of good discussion about pensets included in them. If that is extraneous, you are in trouble.

Do the rest of the forum the courtesy of including in your profile your version of archicad and ac.
