Presence of N/S/E/W elevation markers in workspace

Forgive me I'm new learning archicad. I have just installed v18 but the elevation markers normally present in a standard template aren't there. The only elevation marker is East and a Section marker is also present. Same goes for Navigation palette. Is this correct?
It turns out the UK version of v18 opens using standard profile with an East elevation and a section marker, unlike the other versions, such as US, which opens with NSEW markers
