Printing grayscale from 3D window to HP4V

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am new to this exchange forum so this question may already have been answered. I used to be able to print very good quality gray tone images to my HP4v printer from the 3D window (in ArchiCad 6 and earlier versions) in the shaded mode. In ArchiCad 7 and 8 the only way I can get grayscale images is to click on the dithering box. This works but the images are much more pixellated. If I do not click this box everything comes out black except for windows and doors with glass in them. Do I need a different print driver or some other setting to get this to work or am I just out of luck? Thanks for the help.

Have you changed your OS prior to the problem? We noticed that once we switched from Windows NT to XP that we had the same problem. We found that the the problem is with the new XP drivers for the HP4V. Are you using a PS driver or a PCL driver? What resolution are you printing (300 or 600)?
