Publish (as saved files) DWG set for Cicil Engineer

I have saved a published set of drawings for our civil engineer but have found that the file is enormous (72MB) It has included all the layers of the entire file including an x-referenced survey file. Is there a way to only include the layers that are visible for the layer set shown so that the file is not so large? I cannot e-mail this file the way it is. Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

You need to set this up in your DWG translator. Create a new translator to create a copy of the default translator and here you will find a means to include visible layers only.
