I have just come across the same issue.
The 'Standard' renderer simply has an option for 'Grass'.
But I see no such option with the 'Redshift' renderer.
I am just testing a new machine and Redshift seems to much faster and better than the standard Cinerender option.
It would be a shame if it can't render grass.
Does anyone know if it can or can't do it?
Barry.

I think I just found the answer to my question.
Seems there is no setting for grass any more which is a real shame.
