Renovation filter/MVO

Hi,

I'm quite an experienced ArchiCAD user, currently working on V21. I cannot for the lift of me, get the hang of the renovation filters!

My new window fills are visible in NEW CONSTRUCTION, but not show all elements.

-My new doors, placed on existing walls don't show the wall opening.
-Existing windows on existing walls don't show in 2D- but do in 3D (i think this is an MVO setting, but I've exhausted all options!

I'm sure this is the simplest setting, and i'm racking my brain trying to figure out what it is. Any suggestions?

I rarely use reno filters so forgive me if this does not answer your problem.
I can only attach one image per post so are with me.

Your new window needs to have it renovation status set to "New".

In the reno filter options you need to have both the 'New Construction' and 'Show All' filters set so that 'New Elements' are set to 'Show'.

This should allow your window to show when the 'New Construction' or 'Show All' filter is active in Archicad.

Make sure both you plan view and 3D views are using the same reno filter.

Now I notice that filter settings for 'Elements To Be Demolished' is set to 'Hide' then the fill for the wall where the window is will disappear from the plan (has no effect in 3D or elevation).

So it seems that Archicad knows that a new window has to demolish the wall it is going in so therefor you need to 'Hide' items to be demolished if you want the wall fill to disappear in plan for that particular filter.
I am not sure why this would not affect elevations and 3D as well.
But as I say I don't use the reno filters that much.
