Scale Bar AC 22

There used to be (maybe AC12 or something) a scale bar that I would place into the layout that would pick up the scale of a single view automatically, but I can't seem to find that anymore. I found another scale bar that is supposed to be placed into the drawing—it shows up by its handle-points, but is invisible(see screenshot). When I place the same scale bar onto a layout, it shows up, but just shows the 1:1 scale bar of paper space(see screenshot). Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried moving the scale bar to the front of the graphic display order? (While bar selected, right-click and select Bring to Front from context menu.)

Yes, I also tried pushing everything else to the back, but with no expected results.

Can you see it, if it's outside the edges of the image?
