Hi all,
There is wish for a display option that would highlight custom Dimension Texts:
I was experimenting with Tapir but unfortunately, it does not have this capability yet.
However, until the wish is implemented, I have found a way that makes is much easier to visually distinguish modified Dimension Texts from the ones displaying measured values.
The idea is to create and save a Dimensions setting that would display the two types of dimensions (measured vs. custom) so differently that it is easy to spot the custom ones (if we forgot to set the pen of the custom Dimension Text to a different Pen at the time we modified the measured value).
So, here is an example: in the below floor plan, 3 Dimension Texts have been modified from their measured value:
I create and save a new Dimension Settings set. Since I am working in metric, I will make its unit "Feet & Fractional Inches" with the highest accuracy and always displaying zeros everywhere. This way, measured dimension values will both be long and in feet and inches - very different visually from my metric dimensions. Here is the Dimension Settings:
And here is the result:
Now it is relatively easy to spot the three Dimension Texts that are in metric because they are all much shorter than the rest, and now I will set them to a different color as well so they will be easy to spot in the future. Then I just switch back to the usual dimension display and the issue is sorted.

That's quite a brilliant idea
