USA Archicad 23 Template: (26) Renovation filter options?!?

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'm looking at the new 23 template as a starting place to update my own calcified/corrupted template dating from version....15?

Looking at things to keep, take advantage of, and noticed all these renovation filters. Why so many? Is the idea to eliminate text layer, and pin labels to a particular filter?( Roof Plans, Interior Elevations, etc.)

Is there a post/documentation of all the intended ways the new template (US version, but I'm sure it applies to other versions too) is to be used?

Thanks in advance.

Must be a US template thing.
In the AUS template we only have 7 different reno filters.
I would hope there is a document somewhere to explain the use of the US template (we do have one for the AUS template).

Was it Link who does the US template? I remember seeing a post back when AC22 was released regarding the reasoning behind the US renovation filter list...

@Barry.

Got a link to that documentation? I'd love to see what we're missing over here.

It is on the Central Innovation (our Graphisoft distributor) select benefits page, so unless you are a registered user you will not have access.

The template itself you can get by downloading the AUS version from the Graphisoft site ... https://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/languages/

As the template guide is available to AUS select customers only, I wouldn't feel right in just distributing it.
Maybe you could contact Central Innovation and ask if they can send you a copy.
Probably best through this contact page.

Explain that you have downloaded the AUS version to look at the template, and could they send you the "Australian Select Template Guide 23" pdf.

Yes, this is the thread where Link explains his logic: https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=63180&p=289613

Basically the idea is that if you have one option for every view type, it is easy to use the Drawing Manager to ensure consistency across all views. And, if you want to make a change to the Renovation Filter for a particular view type you can do so knowing that you aren't going to mess up anything else.
