I'm trying to create a set of 2D-documents that visualize different aspects or properties of the floors I've created:
- the types of thermal insulation used (different color=different thickness)
- the types of acoustic insulation used (white= no insulation, blue=insulation)
- ...
My floors are setup in 3 parts:
- load bearing (typically a concrete slab)
- 'filling' (don't know the word in English): contains electrical and sanitairy pipes (embedded in a screed), insulations and a screed for placing the floor finish
- floor finish
This way, by using SEO I can create the correct sections (Concrete slabs cut out of bearing walls, bearing walls cut through finishing and 'filling' and plaster board walls are set on top of the 'filling'
I would expect a BIM should be able to represent the different part composing the 'filling' (as the slab and finishing are but one 'layer' of material I can visualize thes eby turning layers on and off and using pen sets for cover fills).
Is this possible or should I create a whole complex set of pens for all possible combinations? Am I missing out on something?
