Without OLE in AC10, is there a good solution...

... for embedding Word docs and Excel files into our layouts?

I've created an extensive set of notes and schedules in both Excel and Word for use in Plotmaker, which, sadly, are now all defunct.

What is the best approach to circumventing the problem?

Writing PDF files for the blueprinter was an option, but some fonts (such as the ones I am using, do not get embedded....
I had this problem also. The font was "MrHand".

Also, when Printing/Plotting PDF's the Scaling was not accurate.

Try to use Adobe Distiller.

Is this Distiller mentioned in the Graphisoft manual or can I find out about it at ArchicadWiki?

@Jay

I have mentioned hier. It was my experiance with PDF file from AC.

I have feeling, suddenly PDF is now the most important file for AC 10.
I ask, is it good solution?
Many users have in a moment trouble with PDF from AC 10.
As you mentioned, we need nice official manual with this matter- eps, OLE...... now just one file PDF!

I have absolutly no trouble with PDF instead of OLE.
It is actually very sure way to organise with PDF.
But I think, everybody needs Accrobat Professional in order to save data in PDF with Excel or Word.
Than it is no problem.

The actuall problem is with EPS.

Yes... I just worked a couple of days with a spreadsheet for Lateral Analysis and went to pdf it onto a layout... Oddly, AC10 could not read the file that AMYUNI made... ugh.

My main issue without OLE is that when I need to export my file to another editable format such as dxf.
Pdf's are exported as raster images, whereas the OLE spreadsheet in v9 was conveniently converted to vector elements.
Although we've lost the live link, you can still paste from a spreadsheet and convert to archicad elements and then resize to suit the layout if you don't want to use the pdf option. I find that lines pasted from the spreadsheet are often missing and text is not aligned as you had intended it to.
