parallel lines

I know this is a simple question, but I need to draw a line parallel to a boundary (which is at an odd angle) and dimension it as a min. setback. I might be about to out myself as dense but how on earth do you draw a parallel line at a known distance?

Bashfully

You will need to use the offset tool hidden in the Relative Construction Method button.
Have a look at page 426 of the reference guide and that should help out.

Thanks got it - silly me I was trying to use the parallel line tool. The problem with the archicad help is the answers are only ever obvious or even searchable after you know what your looking for. Try search for how to make a gutter? Until you know how to make a gutter you can't find out how.
