I am a reprographics firm and some of my architects have switch to archicad! Do i need to purchase it to print? I use Kip printer with windows NT and if I do need to purchase it should I go for the pay per view

You should not.

Archicad/Plotmaker can create PDF or PLT files for you to print from.

Thanks for the quick reply. So if my architects save them as plt or pdf and e-mail thems to me the line weights and Bitmaps should be ok to print as is

Yes, they should be OK to print as is.

We have the Kip Starprint 8000 at our office, and print PDFs to it from Plotmaker(the sheet-space part of Archicad) all the time.

Just remember... what you will be getting will be an HPGL2 file if you get a PLT; allow the HPGL2 file to control the pens.
