PM9 to PM 3.1

Is it my imagination, or is it not possible to go backwards from v9 Plotmaker to v3.1 Plotmaker?

Not your imagination! For some reason this was left off. However I have left v3.1 in the dust and moved completely to AC9.

PM 9 appears to be able to read AC8.1 models just fine. Is that what you wanted to do?

As far as I remember it has never been possible to save a file form a certain version of Ac or PM and read it with an earlier version of the same software.
The only exception is when you save from ArchiCAD in the format of an earlier version, but even in that case library parts and created with and elements available in the later version will not go through.

It is not.

Why do you want to do it?

Hi Djordje,

The reason for needing to being able to save a 9.0 version Plotmaker File as a 3.1 is the same as saving a 9.0 Archicad file as an 8.1 version - to exchange files with Archicad users who have not yet upgraded to version 9.0.

I too have found it very frustration that this capability exists within Archicad, but not in Plotmaker.

Hello
Not sure about the legal items (and definitely don't want to support piracy, especially of a decent program such as Archicad/Plotmaker). I vaguely recall that in the earlier versions of Plotmaker, there wasn't really a restrictions on the number of installations one could make of the software. If allowed, a user of Archicad 8.1 could be using Plotmaker 9.

As I said "vagely" - I'm not sure if it was the case and is still the case.
