skin list label says "no content defined"

the skin list label says "no content defined" whether it's my own composite or a standard ac composite or even a basic element. it used to work on other projects. i just opened a brand new project with an AC template and i get the same results. any thoughts?

Are you placing the Label with the Associative or the Independent Geometry Method? The Independent method can cause what you described since in that case the Label will not be associated to any element, even if you click an element at placement, therefore no content can be displayed for it.

this is a bit of a hijack, but is there a way to turn off the display of the thickness in the skin list label? i want to ad air barriers but it obviously has no relevant thickness, but iff i enter 0 for the material thickness i get weird problems when displaying sections and if i create a new line to use as a composite it doesn't list it.

The only solution I have:
After you placed the Skin List Label, go to the Custom Settings Panel and activate the Custom Content page.
Check the "Custom Content" checkbox and then you will be able to edit the skin list. The list will contain the current skin list so it is not hard to modify it.

If you modify the Wall Structure, you will have to update the list. The fastest way is probably to select another Label type, then select the Skin List Label again, because only then will the list of skins update in the Custom Settings panel.
