I am missing the little box that tells me how long a line is (while I'm drawing it) or how far I'm moving something. Did I turn it off somehow?

The box is called the "Coordinate Box"
Reactivate it from the Window>Palettes Menu.

Or maybe you refer to the "Tracker."

Activate the tracker under Options>Work Environment

I have trouble making mine stay on.

I'm not sure problems with your underware are relevant, Dwight, but thanks for your input anyway!

(Yes, my tracker turns itself off annoyingly often also. I hope they solve it in AC12!)
