How to draw a table in GDL with merged vertical cells (row spans), keeping column lines but removing

I’m creating a table in GDL where some cells should be merged vertically across rows (like row span), based on whether the lower row is empty. I want to keep vertical lines dividing columns, but remove horizontal lines between rows when they should be merged.

Does anyone know the best practice for this logic in GDL? Any example code or guidance would be helpful!.  The data I entered in this table. The last photo is what i want
