Hi!
Drawing speed utterly degrades as soon as pens are "custom" and reference in on
if store that "custom" as preset with name, viewport becomes faster even with reference image on.
steps to reproduce:
1. create new worksheet in "Worksheets" (I'm placing references there, most likely not related to issue) and "place external drawing" jpg on it
2. go back to "ground floor" and show worksheet with jpg reference as "show traced reference"
3. select wall and switch wall tool to "Basic"
4. go to "pens and color" and change any preset so to make a "custom" entry appear, then select that "custom" entry in bottom pallete
now try to move a wall or draw another "Basic" wall, it will be dead slow compared to previous speed.
solution is either to save that pen to preset and/or switch to preset, also disabling a "trace & reference" solves that, or just work with composite walls is ok. Can anyone confirm the issue ?
Best Regards !

I have not tested your work flow, but you should never be using a 'Custom' pen set.
If you do, you will never now what pens you are actually using.
So that is your solution if it fixes the speed issue - don't use a custom pen set.

Kosta,
no appreciable difference for me with large (24000m2) hospital building including fitout. What is your hardware / graphics card?

Scott
I don't think it's related to hardware, mine is 2080 and 16core CPU with 32gigs of RAM so it's not HW issue
something is wrong with that 2 things meeting each other in drawing, but ok .. anyway I will just store the custom pen into named preset and that's it. Thanks!

If you trace a saved view (which includes a pen set linked to that view) and change something in your active window from any of the saved settings from the view, ArchiCAD basically has to output two different versions of your model and with large and detailled models, this can lead to slow down.
My suspicion is rather than being a penset problem, the problem is that you are tracing a saved view and then change the penset, leading to a difference. If you trace from the project map, the speed should be ok.
