Rounded Wall Corner displays correctly in Floor Plan but glitches in 3D Document

Hi everyone,

I am running into a strange visualization issue between my Floor Plan and a 3D Document and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or knows a workaround.

The Issue:
I have created a rounded corner (a slab with a radius for a Suspended ceiling). In the Floor Plan, this geometry displays perfectly fine and looks exactly as intended. I have attached a screenshot of the plan view for reference.

However, when I switch to my 3D Document, the radius appears "off" or glitched. The geometry does not match the clean curve shown in the 2D plan.

Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried:

  • If I change this specific geometry from a rounded corner to a straight line, it looks identical and correct in both the Floor Plan and the 3D Document.

  • As soon as I switch it back to the rounded corner, the glitch returns in the 3D view.

    3d Document:

It seems like the 3D Document is failing to interpret the curve correctly, even though the source geometry in the plan is clean. Could this be related to a display resolution setting, the floor cut plane in the 3D Document, or perhaps an issue with how the 3D Document source projection is defined?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hector

How did you create the 3D Document?

Did you generate a top view in 3D and then create a 3D Document? Or is this a 3D Document of the Floor Plan viewpoint as it source?

Hi Laszlo,

Is a 3D document of the floor plan as source.

I tried the same but it works fine for me.

Let me ask you this: the Nodes on the two sides of the curve - are the two Nodes in the Slab at the same positions as the two Nodes in the Wall?

Based on you screenshots, it looks like they are, but I just want to make sure.

Hi,

Yes they points are in the same position:

but on other parts of the suspended ceiling i have not that issue:

only on that 3 parts round with red.

GS is trying to do us a favour here, but this attempt to eleminate those jagged teeth between curved walls and ceilings is failing miserably.

You can try different reference line positions:

Having the wall's ref line in the same place as the ceiling's is generally the better idea.

In the Floor Plan, can you select those problematic edges of the Slab, go to their Custom Edge Settings in the Pet Palette, and check if they are all set to vertical?

Yes, and the Wall Nodes and the Slab Nodes need to be at the exact same position, plus the Wall curve and the Slab curve needs to be the same curve, in which case the 3D curve for both will be generated using segments the same way.
