AI Assistant in Archicad

The AI Assistant provides AI-powered support throughout all project phases, directly within Archicad!

This feature is available as an integrated chatbot and assists with questions about Archicad functions, procedures, and regulations, as well as filtering BIM model elements. The AI Assistant can be used in many workflows and also supports Archicad beginners or new colleagues during onboarding.

Licensing

Please note: The AI Assistant is available to customers with a subscription.

Starting the AI Assistant

The AI Assistant will appear automatically the first time you open Archicad.

1. You can also find it via Help > AI Assistant or under Window > Palettes > AI Assistant.
   
   
   
2. After enabling it, the AI Assistant Action button appears in the bottom-right corner of the model space.
   
   
   
3. Clicking on the icon will launch the Assistant’s interface. When the AI Assistant is opened for the first time, the privacy policy and terms of use are displayed.
   
   
   
4. After accepting the terms of use, you can use the AI Assistant.
5. Enter your question or command directly into the chat window and receive a quick answer or relevant options from the AI Assistant.
   

Features

By entering text-based prompts in the chat window, the AI Assistant can be used for the following functions:

• Knowing more about Archicad
  

  Ask the Assistant questions about using Archicad. It is trained on trusted sources, including the latest Archicad User Guide, Graphisoft support articles, and Learn course transcripts.

  
  
  
• Procedures and regulations
  The AI Assistant can provide guidance on legal architectural requirements such as regulations, standards, laws, and building codes.
  • Note: The data for querying procedures and regulations is currently limited to United Kingdom regulations.

• Filtering the BIM model by specific criteria
  The AI Assistant selects elements in the model according to given criteria, similarly to Find & Select.
  • Note: All 3D architectural elements, such as walls, slabs, doors, windows, objects, roofs, stairs, etc., are supported for selection. Elements can be selected in floor plan, section, elevation, interior elevation, 3D perspective, 3D axonometry, and 3D document. Selection can also be based on Archicad parameters.
    
    
    

• Internet search
  Enable internet search to allow the AI Assistant to research on the web as well.
  
  
  

  • Sources
    All sources used to answer the query can be accessed via the Sources button. The sources are labeled to indicate whether they come from internal search or internet search. Click a search result to open the source.
    

Note: AI-generated responses can contain errors. Always verify the information and sources provided.

Look out for Future Developments

This feature is currently in beta and marked as such. Development is ongoing, with plans to enhance its capabilities within Archicad, such as integrating it with the AI Visualizer, and to extend its availability to other Graphisoft platforms, such as BIMx.
