Realistic visuals are becoming increasingly important in architectural presentations. Considering your feedback, we implemented cast shadows in BIMx Mobile!
This new free functionality is available as the default render mode, initially in the iOS application.
You can now adjust sun direction, height, and shadow intensity to achieve the perfect look.
Shadows are calculated on the fly: cut the 3D model and see the shadows adjust automatically. Save favorite views with different sun positions and create stunning presentations!
This enhancement will soon be available on Android, and later on the web and desktop products as well.

More functional BIMx Web and Desktop Viewers
macOS and Windows app version 2022.4025, browser app version 2022.4026
This update brings the following benefits:
- support of the new 3D format exported from Archicad 26
- Ambient Occlusion, BIMx's on-the-fly rendering that can be switched on/off
- new basic rendering that visually reflects project orientation - headlight method replaced to direct light, aligned to the project's Location Settings defined in Archicad
- opening models with the Camera View Cone associated with the 3D model in Archicad - the ability to customize the 60° fixed View Cone used in previous app versions
The desktop application is part of the Archicad 26 package and is available to download on graphisoft.com.
The web application is available on BIMx Model Transfer and opens Hyper-models in a new browser tab instead of the smaller embedded frame.

Optimized export from Archicad
Archicad’s BIMx publishing has been enhanced with 3D optimizations for faster export and smaller file size. As of Archicad 26, you can now easily control texture sizes as well:
