Dear community members,
Following your feedback and comments, and in light of the constant changes in our work processes, we have some news and updates about the current Wishlist setup to share with you.
Since the launch of the Graphisoft Wishlist in late 2024, you have submitted over 1,000 wishes, with thousands of votes, across multiple languages (English, German, Portuguese, and Japanese), and this is on top of the wishes you submitted before the new Wishlist launched. We sincerely thank you for every wish entered, for your continued feedback, and for the passion for Archicad and the entire Graphisoft ecosystem that you share with us through this system.
We understand that there are concerns from you about the current setup and structure of the Wishlist, that only some of your wishes have received direct feedback and comments from our team, and that many of you feel like "I entered my wish and nothing has happened." We want to assure you that your input is being monitored, analysed, and taken into consideration by the product team.
In the last few Archicad releases, we have put more focus on improving existing workflows and functions based on your continued feedback, including from community-driven wishes and understanding of the problems behind them. Some recent examples that have been implemented based on your inputs:
While many of you may note that these are not the top-voted wishes, they reflect our overall intent to improve usability of our features and to continue contributing to how you use our tools in your daily workflows. For larger and more complex wishes, including some that have been placed ‘On Hold’ or have high number of votes, it does not mean they are dismissed or ignored, as we must consider technical feasibility when delivering any improvement. We aim to deliver continuous improvements that benefit our wide-ranging user base and varied workflows, and for these larger themes we plan to develop incremental and targeted improvements over multiple years, for example around skin based modelling to better handle renovation and supporting cross-project attribute handling which we have recently added to our public roadmap. Beyond Archicad, we aim to align our developments as part of a longer-term strategic direction, where our Design Intelligence Platform will support decision making through the design process, and continuous MEP improvements are expanding our portfolio and reach.
When we research and evaluate any topic; driven through wishes, direct user discussion, our Insider group, our partner network, our support teams and more; our goal is to understand the reasoning and problem, rather than focus on the specific solution suggested. As the Wishlist is still an important source of feedback for us, it is essential to keep it clear and usable. To help clarify and simplify it, we are planning the following changes, which we aim to roll out over the coming weeks.
- Removing the vote count limit.
The 200 votes limit in the English Wishlist was too high. We will therefore remove this threshold altogether from all Wishlist languages. Votes will continue to show support for ideas and will continued to be taken into consideration along with internal feasibility.
- Removing the 6-month timeframe limit.
The timeframe limit was based on planned system automation which wasn’t realised. We will remove this limit to simplify the workflow so all wishes will remain on the Wishlist. Voting for a wish will still contribute to its visibility.
- Simplifying statuses.
The number and variety of statuses caused confusion and fragmentation to the workflow. We will simplify and reorganise these statuses, into a flatter structure.
- 'Upvoted', 'Open', 'On Hold', and 'Need Input' will be merged into a single 'Submitted' status.
- ‘Under Consideration', 'On Roadmap', 'Closed' and 'Wish Delivered’ will remain.
We aim to continue supporting and maintaining this platform as a place for continued feedback and open community discussion, one that is easier and simpler to use and understand. We also plan to continue refining our processes.
