SOLVED!

Using profile tread on stair tool.

Team,

At this point, I’m not sure if I should post this under Ac27 or if it might be a glitch in Ac28 TP.

I have created a metal stair without a riser, and all dimensions and details are complete. I decided to change the tread using a custom profile to show the actual vinyl stair tread covers, which will be supplied by a third party.

However:

I’m unable to make the changes. The only way to modify the stairs seems to be by creating a new one entirely. I thought I could transfer the settings, but it doesn’t work.

Is this a glitch, or am I missing something?

I am not sure (without testing) if you can transfer just the tread settings.

Pipette/syringe will probably transfer all settings (depends on the transfer settings you have set up).

But if you have created a custom tread, you should be able to select any existing stair in that file and in the settings change to that particular custom tread.

Barry,

Thank you again for your response.

I’m not entirely sure what I did yesterday. I tried everything, including changing only the tread to custom, but that didn’t work.

However, I’m happy to report that today, just doing what you suggested solved the issue. It was simple, and I should have done it from the start.

I am closing this ticket now. Issue solve!!

You can try this:

1. Select the source Stair, and in its Settings Dialog, go to the Tread page and save it as a Favorite.

2. Select the target Stair, and in its Settings Dialog, go to the Tread page and apply the Favorite you saved in step 1.
