40" Samsung LCD Monitor

We just purchased and installed a 40" LCD monitor for our conference room.
We are driving the monitor with a Mac G4 1000Hz, Radeon 9700 pro video card. The monitor looks gorgeous! AC looks great, renderings and photos seem to jump to life! If your budget allows, this is an impressive set up. One small problem. When viewing plans we like to use laser pointers. We give a laser pointer to our client and with our old 24" CRT monitor it really worked out nice. Now, with the LCD monitor, the laser dot disappears for the aimer / operator. It shows up for other people viewing at an angle. It is really bazaar. The person using the pointer abosolutely can not see the dot. With the monitor mounted on the wall, it is really going to be inconvienient without the laser. Anybody have any ideas? I hate to think that we are going to have to go back to a pointed stick.

Dwight, very funny,
We have grown to enjoy the unique B.C. point of view. We now have a draftsman working for us out of true-craft log homes, in B.C.
He keeps us laughing.
While i was conveying your comment to the office we came up with a solution to Dr Lau's problem.
Dr Lau, set your client up with a cordless mouse and change the color of the cursor (pointer) to a bright red.

My mistake, I can not seam to find the setting for changing the cursor,
size,color... still think this will work for you, it will just be a black pointer.

Yes; Good idea, we talked about using an extra mouse, corded or cordless, but since a mouse has buttons, we don't want it in the hands of a client. What is it about the LCD screen that sucks up the laser dot..... (well at least from the point of view of the operator). We had a presentation last night. Used the laser pointer to point to the paper plans laying on the conference table. Worked ok, but had to explain to the client that the laser would not work on the screen. Of course they had to try it because no one believes that it won't work. Every advancement seems to come with a downside. Thanks again for the imput, and Dwight, the paint ball gun sounds like too much fun, and maybe just a tad messy 😉
