A ridiculous quicktime error that is unsolvable?!

After browsing the pages in this forum I'm still baffled as to why
there seems to be no solution.

I've installed ArchiCad 14 on a Windows 7 32 Bit Machine.
I keep getting the ridiculous quick time error that people have spoken about, that is:

Quicktime is outdated or missing" error message (PC)

And the instructions as to how to fix the problem are the following.
"Quicktime is outdated or missing" error message (PC)
Solution 1: Uninstall QuickTime(s) from your system, and restart your computer. Browse the ArchiCAD 14 installation DVD for the "QuickTime" folder and run the installer. If that does not work, then:
Solution 2: Delete the "Program Files\Common Files\Graphisoft Shared" folder ("Program Files (x86)..." on 64-bit Windows). Browse the ArchiCAD 14 installation DVD for the "SUPPORT" folder and run "GSQtComInstaller.exe".
The file can be also downloaded from here: Download GSQtComInstaller.zip
If ArchiCAD still won't start, then:
Solution 3: Run the vcredist installers, also from the "SUPPORT" folder. (Run "vcredist_x86.exe" on 32-bit Windows, and both "vcredist_x64.exe" and "vcredist_x86.exe" on 64-bit Windows.)
The packages can be also downloaded from Microsoft: Download vcredist_x86.exe Download vcredist_x64.exe

I have installed, uninstalled, rebooted, and possibly driven myself crazy attempting to solve this problem. In particular the solution asks to install
both the gsqtcom installer and the vcredist which don't seem to help mch.

It also says to delete the GRAPHISOFT SHARED folder but is it just me or that folder does not seem to exist on windows 7? I've searched high and low for it.

I would really appreciate if someone had the solution for this else I'll be inclined to say I was better off with Autocad and Rhino

Help Please! Someone? It's so frustrating and so annoying given my only crime was to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7!

I think your only "crime" was to try to use Vista at all

Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of ArchiCAD and Quicktime?

You could also try getting the Quicktime installer direct from Apple (I'd give a link but I'm on my Mac and get directed to the Mac download page).

Firstly, the person posing the question clearly wrote that they are using Windows 7. Not Vista.

I have windows 7 64 bit Ultimate and have also experienced this problem. I have yet to find a solution. What is one to do in such a situation. The programme was so expensive to purchase and it doesn't even work.

I have a high spec pc that meets all requirements.

No problems here using Win7 Prox64.
System requirements page of ArchCAD Wiki suggest using Win7 Pro.
Check that user is logged in with administrative privileges, without admin rights you will get problems.
To the original poster, did you reformat the drive and do a clean install of the OS and all programs? Upgrading of OS via update will lead to all sorts of problems and should be avoided
