AC 9 load add ons

I just made the change to 9 from 8 and for the project I'm working on I want to use ArchiTerra, so I downloaded the demo to check it out... the problem is when I load it in the add on manager it won't show up in the extras menu where the add on commands anchor is. Do I have to set where the menu goes manually? I can't work out how to do this in the Work Environment options.
It seems strange because when I was using AC 8 I had no problem installing add ons. Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but I couldn't find it anywhere and its driving me crazy that I can't do something sooo simple.

you can set them automatically in the work environment if you wish, but they should automatically show up under the Extras menu (Extras>ArchiTerra>Show ArchiTerra Palette...). maybe your work environment profile is set to beginner or something where extra add-on commands are hidden by default? go into the WE settings and apply the advanced profile . . . does that make it show?

if not, again in the WE settings, find the 'Command Layout Schemes' and then 'Menus'. you should see two wells in the dialogue. the idea is to place the ArchiTerra menu from the left hand well into your current menu structure in the right hand well. it's as simple as navigating through your current menu structure (right hand side) to find the location you want to add the menu, then selecting it from the left hand list and clicking 'Add Selected'. see attached. hope this makes sense.

Hi ben thanks for your help, only after following your instructions I realised the problem seems to be with loading the add on. it never found it on start up of archicad so I had to use the add on manager and loaded it using that. it said it was loaded so i assumed my problem was getting the menu to show up. It wasn't until I followed your instructions and saw that architerra didnt show up in the list on the left that i realised something else is the problem.
I can't see why it wont work, I followed the instructions on installing it, re downloaded it to make sure i had the version for AC9 for Mac, and I've done the exact same thing as when I had AC8 except it worked first time and now I've spent hours trying to get it to work. Could it be because I'm using the student version of AC9 and the demo of ArchiTerra? seems strange because it worked when I had the student version of 8... so I don't know... perhaps its a bug? I'm really getting frustrated

And here is the answer:

All of our add-ons doesn't work at all with the student version!
The add-on protection is linked to the ArchiCAD dongle and the Student version doesn't have any dongle!

ASAP the add-on realize you are running a Student version it immediately hide the menu...

Thanks for solving my problem.
The add ons used to work on the student version of AC8. I'm kind of annoyed that I just deleted it now after switching to 9.
I just wanted to use architerra for my high school graphics project because I liked the Idea of being able to model my site from the contour lines. That way I could show my 3D renderings on a model of the site populated with bitmap trees etc. and then easily have 2D sections to show the excavations of the site and elevations of the exterior.

Does anyone know if there is any other terrain modelling software that would do the job? Im willing to purchase an add on, just not the professional version of archicad, because like most students, I couldn't afford it.

I ended up just modelling it with the mesh tool. It was actually a lot easier than I thought It would be.
Now all I need to know is if its possible to map different materials to defined areas of a mesh and how. I think I'll post this in a forum more appropraite though.

I am having the same problem with archistair, and I don't have the student version.

It doesn't show up anywhere, except in the add-on manager, where it is checked.
