An apparently corrupted plotmaker layout book generates the following error when we try to open it:
"Error while Reading File: Sedgwick CD.lbk (256: End of Input has been reached, read operation is not completed)."
Doing some detective work, I discovered that another user tried to open this file this morning and received the message
"Connection failed. The server may not exist or it is not operation at this time. Check the server name or IP address and try again."
A similar "Connection Failure" error message appears with layout books accessed through this computer, and seems to be related to the layout book's inability to find .pmk files when the layout book has been moved. But in this case, the file has not been moved and closing the window just brings another one and another, until you have to crash out of PM because it's not responding. There is nothing intelligible about the above error message since the server exists and is fully operational for all other users. The IP address is fine and has worked for weeks on this computer.
Our working theory is that somehow the "connection failure" cycle of error messages corrupted the LBK file and now it is inaccessible to anyone on the network due to the "Error reading file" message.
Any insight on this problem? We're looking at at least 3 days lost work if the file is not salvageable.
