AC freezes half way through opening .pln

AC freezes at the same point during startup when I try opening certain particular projects. This may have started since updating to macOS 26.5.1. In the mac finder, it shows a filename.pln.lck item, so it thinks the file is already open, but it lets me continue as exclusive user. Successive attempts skip that box and open immediately to this, with the blue bar already at this exact point:

I've downloaded AC29 and tried opening the same files; same results.

.lck can misreport file to be open - happens in case Archicad crashed so it didn't delete it as it would when you close it cleanly.

Have you tried "Open and Repair" on the file?

As Davor mentioned, the LCK file is not important in this case.

It is just left behind because the file was not closed properly.

Just delete it or open with exclusive access as you have done already.

It looks like it is stalling on loading the libraries.

This can sometimes take a few minutes to process, so maybe it is just a case of give it 5 minutes to see if it can finally get through it.

Also as Davor suggests, try the 'Open & Repair' option.

Start Archicad and load a default template or any other file that will open.

Now FILE menu > Open > Open and browse for your file.

Tick the 'Open & Repair' option and then OK.

Also do you have access to another machine to try and open the file there?

Thanks Davor and Barry. The files to repair weren't showing up in the window on opening AC, as corrupted files usually have. But I did the Open > 'Open & Repair' option and that worked after one or two tries. Whew!

They are not files to repair, they are files to recover.

They will only appear when Archicad has crashed and hence the file was not saved.

These are the auto-save files that are saving in the background as you work.

If the file was previously saved and then close it will not appear in that list.
