Not applicable
Hi everybody,
I'm about to upgrade my PC and I need help about choosing the better CPU, so which is a better choise
Athlon64 3000+ S939 L1 512KB, or
P4 3.0GHz L1 1024KB whith HT?

Ive just bought a Dell Dimension 8400 with Intel P4.

I figured it would be quite a few years until Archicad was rewritten to take advantage a 64Bit processor ( my guess is Archicad 11).

I think one of the GS people alluded to this in an earlier posting.

I would buy tha Athlon64 (Socket 939) because later you will be able to put dual-core AMD processors into the Socket 939. So maybe 1,5-2 years from now you can buy some more RAM and a new processor to upgrade your machine.
I actually don't know about the P4, whether the sockets of the processors will change in the future with the advent of dual-core processors or not.
