Archicad 16 Essentials Guide problems

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello everyone,

I am a new user just starting out ArchiCAD 16, and I am using the Essentials Guide to help me learn the tools.

My problem is that on the guide, everything I am supposed to be doing/learning seems to have already been done/filled in by the program.

For example, then creating a new zone, in the video, it shows a blank canvas with only guidance dots, but on ArchiCAD the zones are already filled in before I can do the work.

I hope this is easy to understand, I just want to learn the tools, but the program is going on ahead without me!

This sounds strange.
If I remember correctly, there are Views that you need to activate for each step.
If you activate the previous view that you are supposed to, does it help?
Or is the file already showing the final state of what you are supposed to achieve by the end of the Guide?

You are correct, each view shows the next step in the design. But on each view I click, everything seems to have already been done. Even when I am on the first few steps, everything is already filled out, even though the guide points are still visible.

I think this may be either a bug related to 16, or the file that was uploaded to the site was incorrect

We checked this with guys at GS:
Are you trying to do the Guide with files belonging to Chapter 1?
That file contains the finished file.
Files belonging to Chapter 2 and later contain the states of the Project you need to create yourself.
