Archicad crash

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have a large BIM model, about 4Gb, I have a problem when it comes to updating the Hotlinks I have attached to the model.

Everytime I try and update via the Hotlink manager it just crashes.

Anyone have an idea to held solve this problem.

Thank you

What are your computer's specs? It may be that it just cannot handle such a humongous model. Honestly, I have never heard of such a huge model size before (in ArchiCAD). I am just wondering what can be in it to make is so huge?
Is the Compress File checkbox checked in the Options subdialog of the Save As Dialog?
Do you have lots of bitmaps or DWG files placed into the file?

As a first step I would try to bring that file size down.
This article gives some tips on how to do that:

Thanks for the link.

I have a lot of IFC models involved in the model and they are creating custom objects.

And do you need all those IFC-converted objects in your Project?
You could start by cleaning up the Embedded Library of the Project where all those converted objects reside.
