Basic ! Master Layout for Printing in AC 10 directions

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have spend the last 4 hours trying to do the simplest formating for printing sheets in AC 10 and I have read and tried at least 4 differnent systems, but none have worked. Understand that no place are words like 'radio button' or 'context menu' even defined, (there is no Dictionary in AC's wonderful help systems that I have found). So.... does somebody know of a very simplified set of directions for this very basic process ? ie. making Master Layouts

Many thanks

Make sure your in the layout book part of the navigator.
Look for the grey folder called masters.
Right click on it and select "new master layout"
Name it
Click on the settings button (bottom of the navigator)
Under "Size" click on the pull down menu and choose to import settings from the printer or plotter that you intend to use.
Make other settings here.
Draw or otherwise bring in your title block.
If you want it to be your default Master Right click on it in the navigator and choose that option. Otherwise just drag and drop it on the layout you need it with in the navigator.

Now I hope I don't get flamed, if this is not what you are after.

Tell me exactly what you want your master layout to be?

Essentially you draw elements on the master layout that you want represented on all layouts that use that master. Additionally you can add automation to the master using autotext and drawing grids. That's why we need a little more explanation.

Thanks,

David -
you were right on....it worked, I believe, although only time and use will prove us correct. Now if I can only get my MAC to print the detail sheet at larger that 1" square I would really be in business.

Again thanks for giving me real and acurate basic directions.

Now if I can only get my MAC to print the detail sheet at larger that 1" square
Select the Drawing in the Navigator (while in the layout book)
Click on the settings button at the bottom of the navigator, and change the scale of that drawing.
