I want to assign a shortcut to F1 key (other than Help), but it seems that it's not possible. How can I solve this problem?
(when I try to assign a keyboard shortcut to F1 key, the "assign" button is inactive).

It's not possible in Windows. Apparently it is on the Mac. (I haven't tried it because I have to stay compatible across the two.)
