File Access Denied

I just got a new G5 and transferred all my files to it from my old G4. Now when I open one Plotmaker .lbk it will open, I can make changes, but when I try to save them I get this error message -

"Error while reading file: Project Name
(258: Access to file or file data is denied)

When I try to open another layout book, it will not even open and gives me the same error message.

What gives?? I didn't know Plotmaker had access priveleges. I have no trouble with ArchiCad at all.

OS X has stratified permissions in accessing files.

Files coming from under old operating systems don't have their permissions set correctly.

Do a Command-"I" to see the information on the file - as attached below.

As administrator you can give yourself, as a mere user, permission to view and alter the file.

BTW: You can read about this in OS X manuals and run around as SUPERUSER with permission to do anything, including inadvertently messing things up. So be careful.

BatchMod.
German techno band from the eighties.
Got their start backing up David Bowie on "Ch-Ch-Changes."

I thought something looked a little funny. I just checked and it is actually spelled "BatChmod"

Dwight, I believe this was an ancient Druid sect practicing in the caves of northwestern Wales. See the runic icon below.

Thanks Dwight, you tha man! I should've know to check the ownership and permissions, I feel like an idiot........half the time I really am cerifiable!

Downloaded BatChmod also, I will try it out, thanks. The suit fits a little tight in the crotchular area, but otherwise not bad but the hood really obstructs me view.......
