Logitech Mousewheel Scroll Zoom Problem in AC10?

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am having a terrible time with Scroll ZOom on my Logitech Mice since I started using AC10.
Using Logitech Setpoint 2.60 and Driver.
Scrolls and Pans at the same time, bogs down and software freezes while the pan/ zoom battle it out (10- 20 seconds). If I remove the driver works great.
With the driver installed works great in AC9.

Anyone else?

Considering switching to microsoft mouse as scroll-zoom feature is absolutely unusable for me right now.

Thanks

Go into your setpoint config options. You'll have to bear with me. . .it's been a while since I've trugged through the setpoint options. But on one of the pages there should be some settings that allow you to configure the settings of your mouse buttons. With the setpoint software, they usually set the middle mouse to Autoscroll, try changing the Middle Mouse button function to Middle Mouse from the pulldown options. That should fix your dilemna.

Yeah, I've tried that but still the same. If I set that button to zoom function then if I double click scroll button it switches to zoom and then works...

Not the greatest workaround as double clicking w/ my scroll button kinda su@ks.

Dunno. Same results on all my workstations using Logitech and AC10. Windows driver works but the setpoint driver doesn't.

(if I set 2D redraw (user pref schemes-more options) to structural contours only it speeds redraw enough to where zoom / pan battle doesn't slow things down to the unusable point...)

I also had the same trouble with a Logitech mx1000 bluetooth mouse in version 9. (it would zoom and move the screen up at the same time) It would not scroll properly with Setpoint installed but would function fine using the generic windows driver.
Lucky the scroll wheel broke after 2 weeks and I got a full refund
Got an Intellimouse explorer instead and its zooms fine (after I disabled the tilt wheel)

Here is someone who is really disatisfied with Setpoint software.... It's absolutely uncompatible with ArchiCAD (don't know if it's a Logitech or Graphisoft problem....)
Turning Setpoint off everything works smoothly.... perfect pans, perfect zooms,,, but no access to customize the mouse..
With Setpoint active you have a fully customized mouse, but when you make a zoom with the wheel you feel strange (due to some kind of function compatible with Microsoft software to pass one line, 3 lines or the whole page). When you go into the infobox and use the wheel to move it down (as you usually do with 3ds max and other software) then you see the whole view moving at the same time......

My question is simple Âżdoes nobody in Graphisoft corporation realized this heavy trouble? ÂżHow many people uses Logitech hardware everyday at home, at the office?

Waiting for an answer....

i've just invested in a logitech bluetooth mouse. no problems on the mac side, but i was in agony trying to use it when i boot into windows. i figured it out yesterday:

open your setpoint software settings and change the scroll wheel button to "other" and then "middle button". next right click the setpoint icon in your notifications bar and choose exit. all will be well in the world . . .

I had the same problem with RaptorGaming & also Genius mice.
AND
It is not a Graphisoft related problem. Same things happen in Revit.
On macs there is a small program named usboverdrive wich acts as an universal driver for usb devices and lets you configure all functions on usb devices.
Is there such a software available for pc?

First of all, i'm looking for some kind of generic driver for human interface dispositive, but I've not been able to find it.....

Second.... I have configured the center button of my mouse as middle button since I started using my MX610 laser mouse..... not only the center button but the side button too. But that kind of malfunction, paning the view when the pointer is in the info box, irregular zooms and all the stuff is always there. It really s...

So, if is there somewhere in this world a generic driver to customize a mouse with lots of buttons....

Naw. I have tried every setting for the middle mouse button hoping to stumble on some work around. The best result I found was turning it to zoom. Again, you have to double click a very stiff little middle mouse button. But the scroll zoom feature works then.

I have the same problem with the Mx laser. But ~/archiben's fix with the "right click" did it. Works fine now.
