Somehow switched off selection capability

I am annotating in layout mode and was wizzing along fine and have just done something obviously (but not to me) simple and can no longer select anything with the cursor. I can select all and have ungrouped (but don't think it is related to groups)

Mode bar is telling me to complete selection rectangle but clicking and dragging is not doing anything.

This is only in the layout mode. I can select when going back into drawings

I am in some mode that I need to get out of and am spiraling into deep frustration.

Any ideas?

You've probably bumped the "S" button on your keyboard and turned "snap to grid" on. Hit "S" again to turn it off.

I knew it was something simple like that.

Wow one wrong keystroke and your a up a creek sometimes. 😉

Coming from multible CAD platforms my many keyboard shortcuts are sometimes my nemisis
