Trial version Archicad 13 - Quick Time error on start-up

I cannot fix this problem as per the advice in this forum as I do not have a installation dvd...so do not have the support folders indicated to correct this problem.

I have reinstalled Qucik Time 7 twice and rebooted the computer after....do not have an option to install 'recommended' when downloading.

I hope it does not mean that I have to buy Quicktime.

Would appreciate any help and advice on how to rectify this problem so that I can see what all the fuss about Archicad is about.

I currently use AutoCAD for technical drawing but have a client who wants 3d drawings which is impossible on AutoCAD.

You could contact your local reseller and ask them to send you that file in the SUPPORT folder.

Hi

I have contacted my guy in Paris but he is not as quick to get back to me as you guys here on the forum!!

I have been sent a link to the support file in question but it does not work unfortunately.

Still trying!

The same to me in archicad 14.

I try to start archicad 14 and then the firste message is:
wk1128-

after that another message like this:

"Sorry archicad cannot run on this computer.
Problem: QuickTime is outdated or missind.
Archicad requieres QuickTime 7.0 or later, image compressors,
decompressors, and required GSQtCom.
Make sure you have Quick Time installed with RECOMMENDED
option chosen at installation and not with the minimal option selected,
Uninstall QT then reinstall it with the recommended option selected,
You must also run the GSQtcom.exe to register it."

And then, archicad 14 cannot start.

I try reinstall Quick Time 7 several times, but is the same problem always.

What can I do?

Thanks

"Quicktime is outdated or missing" error message
Solution 1: Uninstall QuickTime(s) from your system, and restart your computer. Browse the ArchiCAD 13 installation DVD for the "QuickTime" folder and run the installer. If that does not work, then:

Solution 2: Delete the "Program Files\Common Files\Graphisoft Shared" folder ("Program Files (x86)..." on 64-bit Windows). Browse the ArchiCAD 13 installation DVD for the "SUPPORT" folder and run "GSQtComInstaller.exe". If ArchiCAD still won't start, then:

Solution 3: Run the vcredist installers, also from the "SUPPORT" folder. (Run "vcredist_x86.exe" on 32-bit Windows, and both "vcredist_x64.exe" and "vcredist_x86.exe" on 64-bit Windows.)

This is the answer from ArchiCAD Wiki. Solution 3 worked for me, i hope it will for you too. I can not add file vcredist_x86.exe as it is too big for posting here, but you can download it from here:

I have un-installed quick time and reinstalled it, but ArchiCAD 14 still won't open for me. What steps do I need to take? I also repaired my installation of ArchiCAD. Help if you can. It says to run the GSQtcom.exe to register quick time after I re-installed it. How can I try that?

I had similar problem. Found out that quick time was installed but was corrupted. I tried to run quick time on it own and that is where I found the problem. I did uninstall and new install and now everything is fine.

I use Mac, therefore the fixes listed do not apply to me.

I got this message after migrating an older machine to a new one.
