Ran V18 on Mac OS Mountain Lion 10.8.6 with a perpetual license.
Hard drive failed, now replaced with SSD.
Now running iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), with Mac OS high Sierra V10.13.6, processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, start up disk - Mac SSD, graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
Have tried to reinstall V18 and downloaded installation wizard from website (AC18-3006-INT.dmg). When I try to run, after cueing for admin password, the app just blinks and nothing happens. Have tried repeatedly but no success. Think I must be missing something really basic and feel totally stupid.
Was quite happy with V18 - upgrade to V25 would involve substantial cost.
Can anyone help?

High Sierra isn’t officially supported for 18, but usually the issue is related to the version of Java installed as Java is used by the installer. There can be other issues, so review all of these articles:

Also, and easier, if you have a Time Machine backup of the failed machine, you can restore the ArchiCAD folder into the new Applications folder and see if that will work. For many apps, copying a working application folder to a new machine will work… of course you would need to install the old code meter key runtime listed in the article above too if you do that.
