Will AC10 Support Dual Processors ?? Nvidia SLI

Hello everyone from little old New Zealand

I am think of Purchasing a new system and have been monitoring where the bottle necks seem to be on my current rig, it appears that AC9 seems to be very processor hungry for general modeling etc.

My question is simple Will AC10 support dual processors for more than just rendering.

also i have seen an increase in performance in AC9 if you turn off hypertreading. but it holds you back from using other programs.

The other question is has any one looked into nvidia's SLI technology where you can have 2 graphics cards running together to drive 1 display in effect doubling your graphics capability.

i thought ac9 supports dual processors already.

It only supports dual processors for Rendering not for general operation elevation/section generation etc.

I suggest you open task manager and watch the cpu usage as you generate an elevation. if you have hypertreading enabled it will show you 2 cpu's and only 1 will be used by AC9

i'm also interested in your comment on turning off hyperthreading. is there a noticeable difference in rendering time as well, or only in 2D work?

I use artlantis for rendering and have not really noticed a huge difference. but a major increase in performance in AC9 generally, the only drawback is you can't have multiple programs operating at the same time.

If you are using AC9 for rendering then switching off hypertreading wont make any difference, as AC9 supports dual processors for rendering already.

Hope this helps
