4d Library - Any Users

Anonymous
Not applicable
I'd be interested to hear of anybody who uses the 4dLibrary
http://4dlibrary.com.au/library/

There looks like it has some very useful stuff in it. What I can't work out is whether it comes as a template file all setup for you or purely as a library? The window scheduling and inclusion of various bits of the BCA (building code of australia) look good for a start.
Although not cheap it looks perfect for the Australian user. For those already using it, does it live up to expectation and what are any of the shortcomings you've found?

Thanks

tambi, I have been using this library together with my own and find it provides
excellent value. Ben is local and always available to fix any bug and is enhancing
the library with each release of ArchiCAD.
Unlike many 3rd party libraries you do not need to buy another library
when upgrading ArchiCAD.

Updated libraries are available if required at a partial cost of the original.
There are many smart parts included, window and door schedules just to
name a couple. These only work with the included windows and doors.

Window and doors are much easier to set up than alternate libraries.

Thanks for your reply Rod.
With features such as the window scheduling and ability to do quantity take offs, is that something that is setup for you? I am aware all these functions are available in archicad anyway but I find trying to set them up efficiently and correctly is a headache.
I must say it is reassuirng to see both Cadswift and 4d Library being developed in Australia. I hope Graphisoft take this on board and lift there game in terms of support for the local userbase.

Apart from developing the 4D Library Ben also is the CAD Manager for a large
group here in Perth. He is an expert on quantity schedules.
You would best contact him direct from his web site and discuss your requirements.
If you want his details then send me a PM.
