A new idea for PROJECT2 - PERSPECTIVE

I have been writing a section on smart ways to use Project2.

It struck me that, just as you can set up the GDL Web publishing with a parametric choice of view types including perspective (with parameters), there could be a simillar thing with something like PROJECT2_ - call it PROJECT2_{2}, perhaps. This could be like a Project2 with a camera azimuth, distance, and elevation angle (or an XYZ position relative to the origin of the object), followed by the usual codes for wireline, hidden line etc.
Its up to the GDL writer to get the distance right. As the parallel views are decided by angle, its perhaps better for the camera to be by angle of azimuth, but perhaps to be distance and Z height relative to the object's origin. To avoid confusion with the old Project2, it could still spport all the old features if the codes were the usual ones. But just as with the graphic hotspots, numbers like 128 or 256 could be used to make clear it was a perspective.
perhaps 128 for wide angle lens (28mm), 256 for the equive of 50mm lens (60deg cone) and 512 for telephoto effect (100mm).

David, I just wonder what would you use it for?
Why would you use perspective projection of a library part in the plan window?

The way you decribed it, it would be more a PROJECT_3 ...

Also not clear what the use would be in parallel views for CDs?

If you could place an object in a detail window and get a perspective view of it in this specific window, this would be of great use : the detail view is the perfect container for documenting the project, any way you want (2D section, elevation or 3D view...)

I, too, do not see the use of this type of object.

All you want to do is get a top or side view of a part so that you do not have to script the object's view in plan.

I have done object views like Isometrics and perspectives as details to tell the contractor what the final built object should look like. This drawing was not based on a single library part, but a combination of objects and walls and slabs. Like an intersection of steel and lights to show how the electrical feed will be run around the steel to the lights.

So to have the ability of rotating a library parts visual projection for an object placed in plan does not make an logical sense.

Can anyone provide a real use for this type of projection which uses just the library part?
