License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

A "Smart" roof label

Anonymous
Not applicable
I've searched this forum and can't find anything.

I want to make/get a label object that can be used in the following manner:

Click on a roof then click on the desired location for the label. The label needs to display the rise and run of the 'clicked on' roof.

Is this possible? and How?

John, Barry,
Thank you both for posting back.
I apparently did not see the other folder containing
the roof accessory object when I went to extras, accessories,
roof accessories. I will do my experiment again.
I am sure you are right.
Thank you,

has anyone revised this to work with R12? In release 12 on the
Mac, there is no "Accessories" in the menu structure that I can find, or is there?

Rip,
I just tested this accessory object in AC 12 and it works.
It is a roof accessory so you have to have accessories add-on
installed in the add-on folder and the accessories library installed
in your Archicad library folder. Both of these are found in the
"Goodies" link in the Help menu. After you have installed these
two items you will see in Design-> Design extras->Accessories.
Of course, you have to have the object loaded in one of loaded
libraries.

You will probably have to download the Accessories 'goodie' and accompanying accessories library.

Look in the Help menu in ArchiCAD for the link to Goodies download.

Hope that helps!

Is anyone using this in version 17? I am new to archicad and very surprised this feature is not in the software innately.

I have installed the add-on, but the slope text does not display. The strange thing is it correctly displays when I go to the object selection settings (i.e. I see 2:12 or the correct slope), but on the plans only the arrow shows up.

Works for me (haven't used it forever).

Just a guess… but what happens if you select it and:

Edit> Display order> Bring to Front

..maybe try changing the text pen?

Strange. Tried those fixes, got nothing.

Do you access the object via

Design > Design Tools > Accessory
or Design > Design Extras > Accessories ??

I am doing the latter.

Yep, the same.
Maybe test it on a different roof?
One without a cover fill?
