Library parts have grown over time to become a nightmare of epic proportions. Here are a few of the issues as I see them, but I'd be interested what others think:

Yearly ArchiCAD upgrade creates library part hell. Not all parts update. Some corrupt. Some libraries parts do not get updated. Some parts, when updated, do not recognise their original parameters and so lose all previously contained information.

Complexity overload. Fine for the likes of cadimage and other commercial programmers - but rank and file AC users???..please..!
GDL 2d script. GDL 3d script. 2d does not reflect any SEOs. 2d can be live (i.e. accurate reflection of 3d) or dumb. Now we have the ability to customise 2d with model views....

GDL scripting dependant. Yes I can save things I've modelled from the 3d window, but to parametricize the part I need to edit scripts. Why can't it be more like a module - so I can go back in an edit graphically when I like?

An example of the complexity (read - unmanageability) of library parts is such that Graphisoft Australia cannot release their local AUS library concurrently with a new release of ArchiCAD...or even months later..
There has to be a better way...any suggestions from the users for GS?
