Archicad 25 surface differences compared to ac24?

I'd like to know in what way the Surfaces in the AC25 libraries differ from the AC24 ones? (I mean quality-wise, regarding display and rendering, not if there are additional ones).
Obviously, I'm on Mac, and instead of the "OpenGL" display option in the Surfaces dialog there's a "Hardware acceleration" option.
But does that mean that GS has recompiled them for Metal, or are they essentially the same as the surfaces in AC24?
What happens if I open an AC24 project and convert it without manually exchanging all the surfaces?
Should I do that?
I've found that many of the surfaces in the AC24 catalog, especially the additional ones for perpetual licensees, are excellent for my use, and they work good enough in Twinmotion too which means less work for me.

Please, Graphisoft, I’d like some response!

What happened to Addition Surfaces Catalog and Archicad UK Essential Library?

Are there v25 libraries of these or are they redundant?

So if you load the AC24 catalogue into AC25, the quality is better? Is that what you are saying? You should probably test this first. Maybe 25 has some sort of 3D window optimisation or something... Do not have either version so cannot test it myself. You mention rendering, does that mean you've tried them out in Twinmotion already?

As far as I know, the "OpenGL/Hardware Acceleration" is just a name.

As new Macs no longer use OpenGL, it has simply been renamed to "Hardware Acceleration" - it is the same now for Windows machines as well (although they still use OpenGL).

So each platform will now use what it needs to use, but it is just called "Hardware Acceleration".

Sorry Barry - wasn't a hardware issue, rather an Archicad library question.
For several versions now UAS libraries for UK specific objects and extra material surfaces were issued and updated - nothing for AC25

Sorry, I should have replied to Thomas' post directly.

In your surface settings, do you see a link to additional surface catalogue?

Thank you, Barry!

That's the Surfaces located - now how about the UK Specific Objects?

Contact your UK distributor.

I would assume they have a website you can log into as I do here with Central Innovation in Australia.
