your palette is probably 'minimised'. if you click and hold on the window tool, you will probably find that the door tool will pop up out of it for selection.
in the "Window" menu (i can't remember exactly where in AC7) there is an option to customise palette shapes. if you choose to have the tool box "extended" the door tool will always show.
