Hi! im quite new to AC so please bare with me.

I just imported an LCF file using the library manager, but when i go to the BEAM tool it only shows me favourites and there is only three beam types. The same three that i had before importing the LCF.

How do I find and use the new beams?

Thanks!

An LCF is a Library Container File that contains library objects.
So you need to use the Object tool to find the beam objects.
These are not the same as beams created with the beam tool.
For example they will not mitre automatically when two beam (objects) intersect, whereas the beam tool beams will.

The beam tool does not use objects - it can use complex profiles which would be the red beam in your favourites image.
A complex profile can be any shape and can be extruded by the beam tool to create a beam of that shape.
Complex profiles can also be used for walls and columns (and now also railings and some objects).

Thanks Barry for the information, but to clarify my question is...

When I select the beam tool, only three beam types are shown, and those are the ones in favourites, and I cant change that folder it seems...

That is because the file you loaded in your library are not beams for use with the beam tool.
They are objects and you must use the object tool to find them.
