Schedule values rounding on beams and columns

Hello,

Is it possible to get archicad schedules to round up beam and column values on 3D lenght in schedules. This is a schedule to order timber custom profiles for doors and windows.

The next step I dream of, would be to calculate purchasing amounts of an actual material, for example the profile in production is 4,1m in lenght, but sometimes it varies, the material available could also be 3,7 or 5,1 in some cases. I usually add 10 cm for every cut made from the overall length of the profile batten. So it takes a lot of time to find the perfect length that has minimum of loss of material. I even think maybe the factory could bring me pre-cut materials to a certain length on site. But this is not the main question here just a thought I am wondering.

You can't round the lengths other than by changing the calculation units, but that is not what you want.

What you will need to do is create a property with an expression that you can associate to your beam classification.

You can then schedule those properties rather than the actual beam length.

So look here in the help files for expressions in properties ...

In particular one to round up beam lengths ...

Something like this should do it.

Created a new Expression-based Property with the Length Data Type (so lengths will be summed).

The expression divides the 3D length of the element by 50 millimeters (50 mm), rounds it up to the nearest integer, then multiplies it by 50 mm.
