Classification and Properties for Windows.

Hello,

While building the door and window schedules, I ran into an issue: unlike Doors, our Windows don’t appear to have an ID/parameter field I can use to link the associated detail (Head/Jamb/Sill). In the Window object’s parameters, I’m not seeing an equivalent “ID” that feeds the schedule.

Question: What’s the best way to add an ID/parameter to Windows so it appears in the Window Schedule (same behavior as Doors)? (I want to avoid do it manually on the schedule. ONE BY ONE)

Operating system used: Windows

If you see Properties for Doors, but not for Windows in the settings Dialog, then those Properties are not made available for the "Window" Classification in the Property Manager. So go to the Property Manager and check to see if the Properties you wish to use for Windows are actually made available for the "Windows" Classification.

Hi @AG717

Perhaps I misunderstood you, but there is a general ID (Hotlink and Element ID) for all Archicad elements that can be used from the object settings in Classification and Properties> ID and Categories. These can be sorted by criteria using Document> Listing Extras> Element ID Manager... (+info)

You could also use a custom parameter available only for elements classified as doors or windows in Options> Property Manager... (+info)

And finally, you could use the Additional Object Parameters, but they may not be available for all door and windows objects the same, depending on how they were  initially created. (+info)

Best regards.
